Lyd & Byg Festival is a project that is directed towards exposing people to new challenging architecture, art and music. Many provincial cities in Denmark do not have a scene that contains the more “radical” branches within cultural life, and for this particular problem, Lyd & Byg helped to make a difference. Also Lyd & Byg Festival put focus on the lack of cultural life in Silkeborg, and was created by young promoters – outside the established cultural space.

By giving young promoters an opportunity to implement their ideas, the underground culture in Silkeborg had a platform, and also managed to provide experience in collaboration and project leadership.
