The Faroese festival Live Art invited Bureau Detours to collaborate with local artists in October 2011. This year the theme of the festival was sustainability, and the project included two workshops using recycled materials, and the transformation of a square in Torshavn for 24 hours.

The two workshops, and preparations, were held on the local technical school, and materials were collected from local institutions, shop owners and private garbage donations.

Cover Up aimed to transform the square, and make people interact in new ways. The workshops ”design your trash” and ”sound of trash” both turned to the streets in the end, where the local people experienced public space from a different perspective.
