Placemaking is a project that aims to create life with art as a tool in 8 different locations on Sealand in Denmark. All the places are being transformed in cooperation with local citizens.
The project aims to experiment with development processes to test what happens when temporary art is working close with the engagement of local citizens as a catalyst for cultural city development.
We were invited to do a project in the small town of Graested.
It took place in an closed down supermarket which the locals used as a temporary community center. Because of the location we decided to work under the theme ’transactions’. Lasting four days we constructed a small farmers market style sales wagon for the local new town square.
