With the purpose of understanding and examining the connection between African heritage, immigration and visual culture, The State of L3 in collaboration with Bureau Detours created a series of walkways and piers in Galleri Image. The constructions would be interconnected and would show images and projections from various countries and landscapes. The actual construction in this installation refers to the symbolic DNA-chain, thereby turning the exhibition “Piertopia” into a living DNA database, where the audience is invited to interact with audio and video recordings of people from various backgrounds.
