An exhibition about nature and the way we use it as a treasure trove of food, materials and medicines.
Opium-poppy has alleviated pain for millennia. The first wheat fields were sown in the Middle East 10,000 years ago and created agriculture with major consequences for the way we humans live. Palm oil is the new “green gold” in Southeast Asia, and it has increased the wealth of a number of Malaysian and Indonesian peasants. The oil is used in a wide range of the products we use daily.
Man has exploited the earth’s great wealth of plants, while also wearing out and destroying huge areas of land. How should we respond to this imbalance?
The exhibition NATUR® is developed in co-operation with The Steno Museum.
